In A yet another sad incident a 14-Year-old girl who had allegedly got raped had died after suffering for two months. “Also recommended police protection for the victim and her family”, she said in a series of tweets. The girl’s parents work as safai karamcharis at a hospital.

Her parents said she was admitted to hospital in June having fallen ill after being forced to drink the corrosive chemicals. DCW chairperson, Swati Maliwal, tweeted, “She died just now”. She was forced to drink an acid-like substance after which she could not eat anything. Later accused was arrested by the police.
According to the FIR in May, just before a hearing in the court, the girl was kidnapped from her house following which, on May 19, another FIR was registered. “The girl was fed a corrosive substance which completely destroyed her internal organs and she died a very painful death”, she said (as quoted in The Hindustan Times).
The perpetrator was arrested on Saturday after the Delhi Commission for Women issued a notice to the city police questioning why they have not taken any action against him.
The name Nirbhaya refers to the 2012 gang rape of 23-year-old physiotherapy student Jyoti Singh who was beaten, gang raped and tortured in a private bus in which she was traveling with her friend, Awindra Pratap Pandey.
The police have contradicted the account and said a medical examination will reveal the truth of the case. She was sent to a Nari Niketan, where she suffered from complications to her internal organs. In addition, the DCW has sought a response to why the case was not registered under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, India Today reported.
The victim, the daughter of a security guard and a housemaid, was first kidnapped from outside her home in North Delhi’s Burari in December past year.

The DCW had asked for a special committee, which was to be headed by the Union Home Minister and include the Lieutenant-Governor, Chief Minister of Delhi and DCW members.
