Shocking! Saudi employer chops off Indian maid’s hands

Indian embassy has taken up the matter of an Indian maid’s arm being chopped off by her employer with the Saudi Foreign office and asked for an “independent probe”, along with a case of attempted murder against the accused. Kasthuri was in a critical condition but has stabilised and doctors are treating her in Kingdom Hospital in Riyadh. “I want to go back home”. Kasthuri first worked for a family in Damam and later moved to the house in Riyadh.

“Kasturi’s employer was angered after she apprised local officials about the harassment she was facing there, she was not even provided food”, she said.

“DMK MP Kanimozhi has also sent a letter to External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj seeking her help in this regard”.

Currently, the Tamil Nadu wing of Indian Social Forum is taking care of the woman.

Asked how the family got to know the incident, Vijayakumari said it was “through agents who sent her to Saudi”. “That appears to have provoked the savage attack”.

Munirathinam is now being looked after in a Saudi hospital, he said.

The investigation, which was carried out by Al-Sahafa police, has been handed over to Saudi Investigation Bureau, reports said.

Seeking help to bring Kashturi Munirathinam back from Saudi Arabia, her family has sought help from the state and central governments. Jisha a nurse from Kerala who is looking after Kasthuri said she had undergone a surgery and was feeling much better now. “We will continue to seek justice for the victim”, he said.
