Funeral arrangements have officially been set for Lane Graves, the 2-year-old boy who was attacked and dragged into the Seven Seas Lagoon by an alligator at Disney World last week.

“Neither Melissa, myself or anyone from our family will be speaking publicly. We simply can not at this time”, Lane’s dad Matt Graves said a statement.

She said: “Not at all did that cross my mind that there would be alligators in that area; the Grand Floridian provide the activity for kids right there on the beach”. The parents tried to save the child but were unable to free him from the alligator’s grip. “Neither Melissa, myself or anyone from our family will be speaking publicly; we simply can not at this time”, the statement said. The service will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Elkhorn, Nebraska with both a rosary prayer service and wake being held prior on Sunday night and Monday respectively.

The Graveses had previously released a statement expressing their devastation and asking for privacy while praising the work of officials who searched for the boy.

Pleban thinks that Disney will settle with the Graves family privately, but says it needs to update its signs so a tragedy like this never happens again.

The company said on Thursday it will now add gator warnings, but has not said when. In that footage, a park employee uses the blunt end of a pool skimmer to nudge the aggressive gator back into the water and away from the Splash Mountain ride.

The new signs are fixed to wooden posts that hold up rope cordoning off the water.
