Shohei Ohtani dealt with blisters in Japan too

Thanks to a postponement in Kansas City over the weekend, baseball fans will now have an opportunity to watch Shohei Ohanti pitch against the red-hot Boston Red Sox tonight in L.A. With David Price on the other side, will the game turn into a pitcher’s duel?

The series opened with a familiar opponent, the Tampa Bay Rays, who the Red Sox had played in Tampa to open the season.

Much of the damage has been done by Mookie Betts, who’s hitting.353 with two home runs and ten RBI.

Meanwhile, the Red Sox are nearing a 14-2 start to their season.

For what it’s worth, the Red Sox also had the best record in MLB Spring Training 2018 at 22-9-1. Though, only the first came off Ohtani.

The Los Angeles Angers have gotten off to a solid start this year, but they really ran into a buzzsaw in game one of this series.

Following the 23-year-old’s stellar start to the season with both bat and ball in a rookie campaign that has already seen him compared to Hall of Famer Babe Ruth, backing for Ohtani in his homeland has increased with each passing week.

Ohtani gave up three runs on four hits in two innings against the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday night before being pulled due to the blister. Velazquez has a 2-0 record with a 3.29 ERA through 13.2 innings.

David Price has seemingly recovered from his last start – a freakish first inning experience against the Yankees – and will battle Ohtani from the mound Tuesday, while Eduardo Rodgriuez will attempt to control him at the plate Thursday. In his career, he has gone 3-3 with a 4.71 ERA in 11 starts here at Angel Stadium and 3-0 with a 1.32 ERA in six starts during March/ April. Tropeano has never faced the Red Sox. I understand the Angels are good at home and it’s not going to be easy to sweep them. He leads all of baseball with a.389 average and a 1.289 OPS.

Cardinals 5, Cubs 3: Matt Carpenter knocked in three runs, and Paul DeJong homered as visiting St. Louis stretched its winning streak to five games by dropping Chicago.

The Red Sox offense has slashed.283/.360/.475 on its way to 6.2 runs scored per game this year, including 7.8 runs per game over the team’s last 10 games and 7.2 per game over the team’s last five contests (5-0 SU). Betts hit his third solo shot in the seventh inning, matching his career best while Boston’s formidable lineup pounded out 15 hits in its fifth consecutive victory. Maller continues on to say that Ohtani was crowned too soon and has been exposed by a legitimate team.
