Shonda Rhimes Explains How She Lost 117 Pounds
But one thing the creator of “Scandal“, “How to Get Away With Murder” and “Grey’s Anatomy” has shed is weight: 117 pounds, to be exact. She’s probably also trying to lead by example, which is understandable.

Shonda adopted daughter Harper in 2002 and daughter Emerson in 2012, and in 2013 welcomed her third daughter Beckett via gestational surrogate. Shonda has struggled with her weight for many years, but she said now is the time to get healthy for her little kids.

Rhimes showed off her new figure at the ABC TGIT Celebrations in Los Angeles the other day, and Extra caught up with her on the red carpet to get all the details.
Shonda explained to “Extra’s” Renee Bargh about how she lost so much weight and her motivation behind her weight loss. I’m suddenly craving fish and salad’.
Rhimes said her children played a big part in her decision to improve her health.
As for how she found time to exercise when she’s already working with such a full plate, Rhimes says that she’s actually more energetic now that she’s slimmer and healthier. “I’m like, where’s my cake?”
