For Shonda Rhimes, choosing to risk her life flying on an airplane with no seatbelt was the wakeup call she needed to lose 100 pounds.

The Essence reported that Rhimes, in her book “Year of Yes”, stressed her choice not to marry. Rhimes’ shows on ABC have garnered not only millions of fans but also a cultlike status. “Grey’s Anatomy”, which is in its 12th season, airs at 7 p.m., “Scandal” at 8 p.m., and “How to Get Away with Murder” at 9 p.m. In the book, she shared about her last serious relationship with a man who cared for her. She, however, realized that being married to someone is something out of her priorities. “I sat down and burst into tears because I really sort of realized that, like, I don’t know, a year ago that – I might literally have died. And I’m going to work to stay in that space”. We were very intense about our work.

In September, Rhimes hogged the limelight when she publicly declared that marriage is something that she does not want.

“I would have 47 kids if I thought I could get away with it. I love children”, she said.

The “Grey’s Anatomy” creator made headlines when she revealed she never wants to tie the knot but admits she was a little rash with her comments.

As for how she feels these days, the talented writer said, “I feel great”.

“I changed everything I ate, and I hated all of that”, said Rhimes, 45. “I just think they have to decide what their fairy tale ending is- and not go with the standard one that everyone’s told them they’re supposed to have”.
