‘Shoot me’, but stop attacking dalits: PM
Mayawati said “the lenient approach” of the BJP government on the issue shows that the PM is not anxious about putting the anti-social elements working as “cow protectors” into the dock, but about the political loss he may suffer because of the issue.

“About 70 to 80% of such Gorakshak brigands are goondas in the guise of Cow protectors” accused Modi. “They want to create tension in society”, he said.
Addressing a massive gathering after laying foundation stone for Mission Bhagiratha in Gajwel about 80 km from here, the Prime Minister said that the focus now is on sustaining the reforms agenda which will ensure all round development take us into a leadership position in the 21st century.
“There are some people who are running shops in the name of cow protection”.
“Cow will never become a burden”.
After his public meeting, Mr. Modi was given a warm send off by the Governor, Chief Minister, TRS Ministers and BJP leaders at the Begumpet airport.
He said the government is linking economic development and rail connectivity.
“If the Prime Minister had given the same message earlier, we would not have seen this menace of gau rakshaks spreading pan India. Such service enhances national wealth.it does not create problem for the nation”. There is a need to punish these people.
Modi’s comments come at a time when his government and BJP are facing flak over incidents of violence against Dalits and Muslims by cow vigilantes in various states including Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh.
Referring to the power sector and the role played by Power Minister Piyush Goyal, Modi said, “If the Telangana example is taken into consideration, the State was purchasing power at about Rs 10.50 to Rs 11 per unit about two years ago”.
Modi unveiled a plaque in Medak district’s Komatibanda village in Gajwel constituency, represented in the Assembly by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, and formally turned on a water tap on the premises to mark the occasion.
This is Prime Minister’s maiden visit to Telangana after formation of the state in June 2014.

Union ministers M venkaiah Naidu and Bandaru Dattatraya, BJP leaders G Kishan Reddy, Nagam Janardhan Reddy, NVSS Prabhakar, BJP State organization secretary Mantri Srinivas were among those welcomed the Prime Minister. He laid foundation for Telangana Super Thermal Power Project State – I (Ramagundam), Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences, Warangal and revival of Ramagundam Fertilizer plant.
