Shooting at Love Field
At least nine shots were fired in a video posted to Instagram. One distressed man carrying a large bag on his back put his hand on his head, peeked around a corner and said, “Oh my god”. Investigators believe the incident stemmed from a domestic dispute.

The man had damaged the woman’s vehicle with rocks.
“As he gets up, he gets up from that position to a straight run at the police officer”, said Williams. When the officer intervened, the Diamond lunged at him, police said.
Traffic around the airport was moving normally as of 4 p.m., and crews are working with passengers whose trips were disrupted to get them to their destinations. Numerous passengers had to be rescreened for security.
Authorities said police arrested Diamond on Tuesday in Carrollton, Texas, saying he was driving recklessly and crashed a auto into some trees.
Beattie said airport police receive specific training to be attentive to suspicious-looking travelers and that the Dallas Police Department provides “crowded-environment training” to all its officers every two years.
Officials later identified the suspect as Shawn Nicolas Diamond, and said he was hospitalized in stable condition Friday evening.
Diamond was conscious when transported to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas.
Traveler Lucinda Fonseca told WFAA-TV that she and her husband were coming out of the baggage claim area when they saw police approaching the man throwing rocks and one of the officers drew a gun.
She says, “I crouched down on the ground”. But she said that as they drove to catch his flight, Diamond became upset and struck her.
In all, 10 flights inbound to Love Field were temporarily diverted and 12 flights departing from Love Field were cancelled.
Blankenbaker says the man rushed the officer.

“The guy was very aggressive”, said Ray Williams, who was standing with a group of people near the baggage claim door and just a few yards from the scene. He posted video online which shows officers on scene and drawing their guns. For that reason, everyone had to be sent outside security and cycled back through the airport’s single security checkpoint.
