All students who were at Alpine HS at the time of the shooting have been evacuated to a nearby church. Authorities said the hospital has been cleared and extra deputies are keeping the location secure. All staff will meet at the administration building at 9:30 a.m. on Friday. Further threats spread to an Alpine hospital and a motel in Marathon, Texas. “I wish to extend prayers and sympathy to any victims’ families and their loved ones who have been affected by this senseless act of violence”.

Shooter killed and a student was shot. At an afternoon news conference, he said she was 14. By that time, the school was on lockdown and the gunshots erupted several minutes later. That was later deemed to be a hoax, but it required officers to rush to the university from the high school.
“We didn’t plan on standing in front of y’all telling a story like this”, Dodson said when asked if any incident of this nature has occurred in the small Texas town of almost 6,000 residents. Nearby Sul Ross University was also locked down, and police are now investigating a bomb threat made to that campus. Additionally, it is stated that an officer was shot in an accidental discharge between federal agents on the scene.
The shooter then turned the gun on herself and has died, Houston said. No other details were released.
Alpine is in southwest Texas, around 50 miles from the Mexican border and about 250 miles southeast of El Paso.
“There was blood on the floor in the cafeteria that I saw when we went past it on our way out of the school”, one student told CNN.
A shooting at Alpine High School Wednesday left one student shot, the suspect dead and a community in shock. “We don’t want this and we can’t explain it yet”, Brewster County Sheriff Ronny Dodson told KWES-TV in an interview.

She didn’t immediately provide additional information, other than at least one male is being sought. Alpine High School is in the town of Alpine, just north of the Mexican border.
