Shoppers get up early for holiday deals

Some of the shoppers told News 12 that they went to the store to pick up a television for $150.

“We have a heater in there we have music”, said Rentz. Checkstands got busy early Thanksgiving morning at the Clovis KMart.

Many businesses were open until 1 a.m., including the mall, Best Buy. “I’ve got four grandchildren”, said Dave Washington of Fort Wayne.

“You had to be here four or five days (ahead)”, Price said.

Tents were lined up on the sidewalk outside the entrance to the Best Buy in Kennesaw Wednesday. “Maybe one a year, two tops, so I wait until Black Friday and hopefully, maybe I’ll find a movie that’s a year or two old and maybe I’ll get a good deal on it”, said C.J. Palmer, shopper. But at the front of the line, the misery is too much to repeat.

“Most of the shoppers have been through this before, in previous years, so they kinda know what to expect, know how we work”, Lundberg said.

There has been a lot of controversy surrounding the early start for black Friday deals and many say that the earlier start takes people away from their families to save money.
