Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday, the holiday deals are here and many Grand Valley shoppers are taking advantage of the savings, some lining up early Friday morning. Smitt, who lives in North Manchester, was first in line outside Best Buy, 1770 Apple Glen Blvd., just as he was previous year.

Hundreds of shoppers waited outside J.C. Penney, Best Buy and Target for steep discounts on pricey appliances, clothing and electronics. He says the majority of today’s holiday shoppers will be on the ‘Nice List’. A check of two other stores on the other side of Fort Wayne showed similar degrees of strong interest, but not so much interest that crowds of deal-hunters choked the parking lots. Some stores have taken a stance not to open on Thanksgiving.

“When I think of Black Friday, it’s mostly stores not vehicle lots”, he said. Some shoppers told us they didn’t start their spending spree until later Black Friday afternoon.

“I went to Walmart and bought a vacuum, that was half price so that’s a good thing”.

It may be Thanksgiving Thursday, but Black Friday fever has already arrived all over the Central Valley.

“No, no not this, she was a little scared but I wasn’t”, said Isaiah Tucker.

Stores here will be open for the next 27 hours straight.

“I got my phone, I got my laptop, my tablet and, like, five blankets”, Esteban Rodulfo, who showed up at a Best Buy in Fresno, California, told NBC station KSEE. “Most retailers operate in the red until now, and now it’s Black Friday”.
