Shoppers out in full force for Black Friday
Its online store is also offering deals on Cyber Monday – the Monday after Thanksgiving when online sales are expected to peak.

Black Friday is no day for Sunday drivers.
Julie Desireau snagged a $10 crock pot and the last $10 deep fryer at the Naperville, Illinois Wal-Mart and promptly hid them under a rack of women’s flannel pajamas.
Like the jingle of bells, the rustle of the bags means the holiday shopping season is officially in full effect.
If you didn’t get out at 5 a.m. for Black Friday shopping, don’t fret – there’s still plenty of hours left in the day to get your shopping done!
“Sales today have been equal to last year’s sales”, Brian Thedford, general manager of Don’s TV and Appliance, said.
The Moore family says they expect to put in a solid 12 hours of shopping before heading to bed around 5 a.m.
It’s a trend partly born out of convenience.
Shoppers had a bit of a buying appetizer on Thanksgiving, but the question remains whether they’ll feast on deals on the day after the holiday. Many would spend Thanksgiving evening combing through circulars to plot their shopping route for the next day based on the deals they hoped to snag. After a disappointing third quarter, Macy’s CEO Terry Lundgren said he’s encouraged by the retailer’s Black Friday crowds. “Black Friday is the pinnacle that everybody advertises for but it starts Monday, and the wee- weekend before”, said Rovall Washington, owner of Push Clothing.
Of course Black Friday now starts on Thanksgiving night at some big box stores.
A big crowd was seen rushing into Northpark Mall when the doors opened at 6 p.m. Thursday.
“We saw a little bit of an increase last night at store opening”, said Andi Lett, the Store Team Leader.
“We were pretty excited”, he said of the Thanksgiving sale.
“I have four kids I have to shop for on a budget”, said Ashley Martinetty, 28, of Palm Bay, Fla.
“I don’t think I’ve stood in a line”, she said.
Shoppers said the length of the lines varied considerably depending on where they shopped and what time the store opened.
