Short-handed Cleveland Cavaliers still top Atlanta Hawks

Kevin Love recorded 25 points and 11 rebounds as the short-handed Cleveland Cavaliers still had enough to beat the Atlanta Hawks 109-97 on Saturday in an Eastern Conference finals rematch from last season.

Cleveland Cavaliers LeBron James brings the ball up court during the fourth quarter of their National Basketball Association game against the Toronto Raptors in Cleveland January 19, 2010.

Four-time NBA MVP James rejoined Cavaliers for a second spell in 2014 after previously playing for the franchise between 2003 and 2010.

“I blew a gasket, ” James said.

Cousins, averaging 30.8 points in his last five games, was suspended for hitting Atlanta’s Al Horford in the head with a forearm Wednesday night in the Kings’ loss to the Hawks.

“Well, he was frustrated”.

“As a young player, I like to take the challenge, but I don’t want to just talk about me”, Antetokounmpo said. “I understand his frustration, but obviously, you shouldn’t do that”.

Hawks coach Budenholzer was given a technical for arguing a call in the second quarter, and stepped onto the floor where he bumped referee Ben Taylor and was ejected.

Both James and Thompson told Haynes that they are not sure how long this trend will continue, but considering the fact that they have won two consecutive games since the change, it’s safe to assume that this trend will continue for quite some time.

“Coach said we had no intensity on the defensive end and no patience on the offensive end”, Hawks guard Dennis Schroder said. “Until we own that, we won’t get better”. Mozgov could miss the next two weeks with a strained shoulder while Williams will miss his second straight with a sore right ankle.

“I have a date, but I’m not sharing it with anybody”, said Irving in an interview with Slam Online, referring to his widely anticipated return to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

“We were in the bonus for them very early, so that put us behind”, Bucks coach Jason Kidd said.

Unfortunately, LeBron’s decision-making got the Cavs into some brief trouble during the third quarter of Saturday’s home game against the Atlanta Hawks. Cleveland was also without backup point guard Mo Williams, who has been starting in place of the injured Kyrie Irving. But then again how many times have we seen teams try to play with only four players?

Jabari Parker missed Milwaukee’s last game with a sprained foot.

Thompson made a name for himself in the Cavs’ playoff run last season by transforming from a role player to an $82 million power forward.
