Shots fired! Yahoo fires opening salvo in battle to end ad-blocking
That has sparked fury on message boards and social media with many users advising the company to furiously self copulate for violating their right to use ad blockers unchecked.

Yahoo is reportedly prohibiting users from accessing its email service if a browser is installed with ad-blocker software. Google has largely avoided this problem by keeping in-app advertising discreet, while Microsoft has pivoted free email into a loss leader for its other products.
Netizens have reported on the Adblock Pro support forum being unable to use the Yahoo!
It’s the latest sign of growing tensions between Internet companies and consumers over the use of ad-blocking software that lets you browse the Web without seeing ads. We’ve reached out to Yahoo for clarification, and we’ll update this post once we hear back. A spokesperson for the paper said they were testing a few different approaches to see what moves readers to either enable ads or subscribe (both of which provide income to help keep the paper alive, pay employees and so on). When these users try to access Yahoo Mail, they are greeted by a screen telling them to turn their ad-blockers off. Digiday’s Jordan Vilinsky notes that the problem appears to have started this week.
Ads are the primary source of revenue for publishers providing free content online and the popularity of newer mobile ad-blockers has renewed publishers’ concern in recent months over lost revenue.
