‘Show Biz’ in Trump’s Convention Not Too Dazzling
Robertson wasn’t the only Hollywood star in attendance; “Happy Days” actor Scott Baio took the stage in support of Trump and so did soap opera star Antonio Sabato Jr.

Willie Robertson, CEO of Duck Commander and Buck Commander speaks during the opening day of the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Monday, July 18, 2016.
Duck Dynasty star Willie Robertson, the first speaker, said the country was in a “tough spot” and that “we need a president who will have our back”.
Robertson added that while Trump may not always say what people want to hear and it may not always be politically correct, he “will always, always, tell you the truth as he sees it”.
Robertson also offered a prayer for the Baton Rouge police officers who were killed over the weekend, and trashed media experts who missed the “Trump Train” because they don’t hang out with regular folks “like us”.
Explaining his affinity to the party’s almost-nominee, Robertson said that “we’re both successful businessmen, we both have had hit television shows, and we both have intelligent wives who are much better looking than we are”.
Other scheduled speakers include Trump’s wife, Melania, former Texas Gov. Rick Perry and Sen. Or rather, what it doesn’t mean. “It doesn’t mean getting free stuff”, he said to the roar of the crowd.
Baio told Fox News on Saturday that presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump personally asked him to speak at the convention after they met at a fundraiser. “A country that has given him everything”.
In Sabato’s speech, for instance, the Italian-born actor detailed how he came to the United States legally and then became a naturalized citizen, saying, “others who want to come to the U.S.to live and work should follow the same rules” that he did.
“I have been talking about illegal immigration since 2012, and no one listened. – until Donald Trump, Durden said”.
He’s also the father of three who said he was “concerned for my children’s future”, evoking worry over “socialism” and presenting Trump as standing for “unity”. Millions of voters in both the Democrat and Republican primary seemed to agree on at least one thing – they no longer wanted to be governed by political elites in the party establishment who know little to nothing about the daily lives and struggles of common Americans.

The actor said he was compelled to this time around because – mashing up candidate with action word – “our rights have been trumpled”.
