Showers, Storms Likely To Stay North, NW Of OKC Metro Tuesday Night

Storm threats will be gusty winds, large hail, and locally heavy rain. Rain and thunderstorms are likely in the afternoon and evening. It will be very warm and humid all day with highs in the upper 80s for NWA and low 90s in the River Valley.

No totally washed out days are in the forecast, but there is a chance for rain every afternoon this week. We don’t anticipate precipitation Thursday, but late Thursday night into Friday morning, additional showers and storms will be included in the forecast as the front begins retreating northward across the state. Temperatures will drop into the low 60s. And that, unfortunately, is coming with a severe storm risk on Wednesday.

Tomorrow (Wednesday): We wake to partly cloudy skies that could clear out to mostly sunny by the early afternoon. Highs will be a more comfortable upper-70s. Southeast wind 5 to 10 miles per hour. It’s pretty sticky again with dew points in the lower 70s – moisture that will help to fuel a 60 percent chance of evening thunderstorms, some of which could deliver heavy downpours.

We’ll stay dry Friday through most of the weekend as temperatures return to average highs for Saturday and Sunday.
