Showers, thunderstorms, heat and humidity expected all week

Most of you won’t see anything, but a few towns may be hit by an isolated storm that could reach strong to severe levels. Our weather will be quiet for everyone on Wednesday.

LOOKING AHEAD: Temperatures in the 80s will be common through Thursday.

Partly sunny skies and high temperatures in the mid 80s are in the forecast today for Auburn and Cayuga County.

Sunset: 8:57 this evening. The overnight low is expected to be near 57. Highs around 83. South winds 5 to 10 miles per hour. Otherwise, skies are expected to be partly sunny, and the high should be near 93.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 87. Low around 72. There is a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 86.

Temperatures will peak in the 80s Tuesday, forecasters said. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. A cool front arrives later Friday bringing our best bet for rain and storms later day. Lows tonight will be in the mid 60s with partly cloudy skies. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.

Heat indices Tuesday afternoon are in the upper 90s to lower 100s at times.
