Shraddha Kapoor Is The ‘Half Girlfriend’
Before, Parineeti Chopra, Kriti Sanon are speculated to be the heroines in Half Girlfriend. Close on the heels of a top filmmaker announcing her name for a romantic film with her ex-boyfriend Aditya Roy Kapur, hit filmmaker Mohit Suri (of “Aashiqui 2” and “Ek Villain” fame) has signed the petite actress for “Half Girlfriend”.

Shraddha Kapoor starrer, Half Girlfriend, is based on a novel by Chetan Bhagat named “Half Girlfriend”. A love story, it talks about the relationship between a boy from a rural background, Madhav and a sophisticated English-speaking Delhi girl, Riya who become friends, separate, reunite and part again to unite in the end. The movie, is expected to release sometime in 2016. One, because she plays an affluent Delhi based girl for the first time.

Sushant who was initially locked in for the male lead, walked out of the project citing date issues, but it is alleged that his tiff with producer Ekta Kapoor was the actual reason behind his move. Arjun has already starred in “2 States” which is a screen adaption of Chetan Bhagat’s namesake novel. However, Shraddha Kapoor has bagged the role and is confirmed to play the lead role in the Half Girlfriend.
