Rapper Shy Glizzy was arrested in downtown Silver Springs, Md., on Monday (July 27).

USA Today reported disorderly conduct, failure to obey lawful order, obstructing a police officer, rioting and resisting arrest as his laundry list of charges, according to court documents. His girlfriend was reportedly taken into custody as well.
Police arrested Glizzy, who they say attempted to resist efforts by officers to place him in handcuffs.
Many onlookers could be heard shouting “Fuck twelve!” and “Free Glizzy!” during the arrest, with a few young fans challenging the officers directly as they shoved Glizzy into the back of a squad vehicle.

Montgomery County police didn’t put out a news release on the incident, but said they were getting a lot of calls about the status of the rapper, who lives in Clarksburg.

Earlier this year Glizzy was named to the rap magazine XXL’s 2015 Freshman Class, which seeks to identify rising rap stars from around the country. He is now out on bail.
