Sia to headline free concert in support of abortion access

Abortion rights activist coalition All Access said the concerts, along with smaller events around the United States, were aimed at mobilizing supporters of the right to an abortion, a perennial flash point in U.S. politics.

The Australian-born, California-based Sia was initially a behind-the-scenes songwriter and tries to preserve an element of anonymity in concert, singing behind a platinum-and-black wig that covers her face.

Sia will perform at the Cleveland concert of a series of 30 free events staged in cities nationwide by the All Access Coalition, an organization that promotes abortion rights awareness.

The 8 p.m. show at CSU is the anchor for the day of activities planned by the coalition.

Tickets to All Access events are free and available at allaccess2016.com.

“All Access is such an inclusive group that I’m proud to be a part of this”, Sia said in a statement sent to Billboard. “We all need to stand together and be a part of creating the future we hope to see”. The events in Miami, Chicago, Atlanta and Philadelphia will be announced later this summer.

Because of the Supreme Court decision Roe vs. Wade, abortion is legal in the United States. Jessica is set to also be joined by Leslie Jones, with musical performances by Sia, and Natalia Lafourcade.

“All Access is an event that unites abortion access supporters and shows this country what is possible when each of us can choose our own life path – including what our families look like”, Hogue said.
