Significant changes coming to Destiny soon, Damage Referee and more

Luckily enough, with people wondering what is actually happening to one of the most played titles in the recent video games history, Bungie has dropped a line on the official Destiny forums just to let them know it not over yet in terms of additional content. Freelance activities will be split between a 6-vs-6 playlist (a mix of Clash, Control, and Rift) and a 3-vs-3 playlist (Elimination, Salvage, and Skirmish) that will be “available sporadically” in the Director’s weekly rotators. Since the release of the game’s Taken King expansion at the tail end of a year ago, there’s been little in the way of new and exciting content, so one certainly can’t blame players for becoming bored of what’s now on offer.

On the other hand, freelance matchmaking is a useful feature and is something that other online games should also implement. Bungie can’t please everyone with the maintenance times obviously, but are you unhappy that it is six hours nevertheless? This was apparently done “to increase the use of Primary weapons, especially at match-start”. 6v6 game types will stay the same.

Derek: There’s no proof of that. Freelance playlists have been added, which are only accessibly by single players – no Fireteams are allowed.

What the feature boils down to is that now, many players feel that players with bad connections are actually given an advantage in the game, while players with good connections aren’t.

Rumble and 6v6 will remain unaffected in Destiny, as Carrol explained that “the larger gametypes are generally less sensitive to initial conditions, which gives us more freedom to have special weapons going from the beginning”.

There you have it! I also believe you have yet to see our studio’s best work. It will also be applied to Trials Of Osiris and then the Crimson Doubles, a new mode for this Valentine’s Day, and lastly the Clash but of course, Bungie’s goal, for all the Crucible, reported by the site Polygon, is to update the settings. The second – and final – question simply asks you to provide your own personal comments to go along with the first answer.

In other news for PvP players, Bungie will introduce a Damage Referee, which is created to improve your experience if you’re on a bad connection.
