Gujarat High Court today pulled up Hardik Patel’s lawyer for taking it “for a ride” after the advocate’s midnight petition to produce the then “missing” reservation spearhead led to a rare pre-dawn hearing.

Hardik, convener of the Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS), had introduced on Friday that he would launch a “lollipop motion” to register displeasure over the package deal.
Asked whether or not he has any political ambition, Patel stated “solely time will inform”, however added that, for now, he would encourage the youth of his group to contest elections as Patels didn’t have enough illustration.
According to PTI, there were reports that people in Rajkot have already started kicking off the “Lollipop Movement”.
Following the announcement by Gujarat government of a package for the economically-backward category, Mr Patel said that what had been offered was a “lollipop” even as he maintained that reservation should be on the basis of caste alone.
Regarding this, Patel and his aides, decided to distribute the lollipops, to all the patels in various villages and talukas of Gujarat state.
Representatives of two Patel groups based in US today appealed to members of the community not to demonstrate during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit there over the issue of ongoing agitation for reservation in Gujarat, saying internal issues are never raised overseas.
Hardik, who appeared before the court with his lawyer on Thursday morning at 11 am after more than 24 hours of disappearance, narrated the entire incident of him being abducted by unidentified persons who apparently seemed to be policemen in plainclothes, his detention in a vehicle and of threats of dire consequences for continuing pro-reservation agitation, before freeing him on Wednesday noon about 120 km from Ahmedabad.
“August 25 will be observed as “Patidar Revolution Day” across the world. Prima facie, we are not satisfied with the allegations”, the court said.
