The first half saw Atletico take the game by the scruff of the neck, and once again Diego Simeone’s side showed that they are not afraid of anyone.

“Perhaps in these 90 minutes we didn’t deserve this result, but, overall, given the opponents we have faced, we deserve to be in the final”.

Suarez had scored the opening goal of a 1-1 draw as Barca progressed to the final courtesy of a 3-2 win on aggregate.

However, last match against Atletico was the second leg of semi final match which was drawn but calculating two legs, Barca has got the clearance for the final by goals aggregation.

Atletico coach Diego Simeone was furious on the touchline at full-time as were numerous Barcelona coaches, due to the late dismissal of Suarez.

Two minutes later, we looked sent for an absolute classic as Antoine Griezmann, clearly onside, was played through and finished superbly.

Barcelona’s Sergi Roberto was sent off just before the hour-mark before Yannick Carrasco was sent off for the visitors 12 minutes later. Replays showed it was the wrong call.

Barcelona are through to a fourth successive Copa del Rey final despite having both Sergio Roberto and Luis Suarez sent off. They started the second leg as they had ended the first, putting Barca under intense pressure.

Turan has already lifted the Copa del Rey title with Barcelona and Atletico Madrid. His tap-in didn’t change much for Atletico, they still needed to score twice.

Atletico did pull level in the 82nd minute after this impossibly razor-sharp cutback from Griezmann to find Kevin Gameiro.

Messi’s incredible run of scoring free-kicks in 2017 almost continued with a driven effort from fully 35 yards that came crashing back off the bar.

“The important thing is that Barca could win the final”, said the Catalonians boss, who then went onto praise second-choice custodian Jasper Cillessen, after a tie-winning display.
