Simon Cowell hails Louis Walsh as ‘most popular person in country’
You could kind of see this one coming from the start, as Mason was standoffish with mentor Nick Grimshaw when the judge asked the singer how he prepared for this challenge.

Erm, so is Louis Walsh heading to the jungle or the X Factor?
There were dramatic scenes on tonight’s episode of the X Factor when Simon Cowell had a confrontation with contestant Mason Noise.
“Yo, hold on – I’ve got something to say”, he announces. I invite you all to film this on your phones.
With that, Simon understandably looked infuriated. I am doing this for them, for artists.
Complaining that everyone else had 10-minute slots during auditions while he only got a paltry 47 seconds, Mason went on an epic rant.
However, stubborn Mason refused to say sorry for his shocking antics and apologise to the show’s producers.
But Simon has given his full backing to the Radio 1 breakfast DJ, revealing that he even gave him a pep talk. He did so having childishly dropped his microphone before storming off.
Brian McFadden has hit The X Factor confessing the program has “lost its magic”. “I personally thought she was nasty, a terrible human and completely not genuine”.
I realise Mason Noise probably wasn’t the world’s next musical genius, but this could have turned out so much better: he was different and sparky, which would be welcome in a few weeks in a sea of earnestness and ballads and Big Band Week grins and blonde quiffs. I can actually see him selling out arenas, which makes me wonder what possessed him to behave in that way. He was the first to say – and me as well – that I don’t think we were totally on top of our game.
“Perhaps he was told that he wasn’t going through no matter how well he did?” Ironic, as he consequently got booted off the show altogether.
So is she implying then that someone has told her the whole thing was a set-up? “And I mean it”, an exasperated Cowell insisted. Is it possible that whole thing was staged?

“I haven’t heard from him as to whether it is a serious offer or not”.
