Simon Cowell ‘Regrets’ Louisa Johnson Song Choice, As Christmas Number One
Often after X Factor, the victor is a shoe-in to be topped the coveted Christmas Number One.

Simon Cowell reportedly regrets choosing “Forever Young” as Louisa Johnson’s “X Factor” winners single.
The champion’s cover of a Bob Dylan classic limped into the top 10, achieving a number 9 position.
Louisa nabbed the top spot when the show ended earlier this month, beating fellow finalists Reggie N Bollie. It does however seem to be fairing better this week and according to the Official Charts Company it’s now sitting at number seven in the Christmas’ charts.
Only two previous victors, Steve Brookstein and Joe McElderry, have missed the number one spot in their first week of sales, although both eventually climbed to the summit.
“On reflection, they feel picking a more up-tempo, anthemic song would have been a better idea”.
Louisa Johnson is out of the Christmas Number 1 race after dropping to Number 6 in the charts today.
However Syco bosses are apparently still committed to the 17-year-old singer and believe the “poor chart position was down to the song, not the performer”. He faces competition from The NHS choir’s Coldplay and Simon and Garfunkel mash-up, A Bridge Over You.

Unfortunately for Louisa, the lack of success surrounding her debut single is not necessarily about her as much as it is about the single itself, as it has been branded one of the worst Winner’s Singles to be released in the history of the show.
