Simon Kinberg Teases the X-Men

Now due to the success of “Deadpool” fans have been quite critical with another Marvel film, which just came out in theaters not too long ago, and no, this is not “Captain America: Civil War“, this is a long time and well-beloved movie franchise “X-Men: Apocalypse”.

“Another thing that’s been introduced in the comics is a big alien, interstellar tenant within the X-Men universe that hasn’t been explored”. On that note, and with X-Men: Apocalypse approaching a release date, it has been revealed that a post-credit sequence in the movie will welcome a new mutant into the fold, one who could have major connections to future Marvel movies. It should also be noted that Cyclops and Havok’s dad, Christopher Summers, became the space-faring Corsair and led the pirate crew called the Starjammers.

As to how far in the future the movie will be set in remains to be seen, but there have been speculations that “Wolverine 3” will be based on the comics, “Old Man Logan”. We also see blue skinned shape-shifting Mystique going around the world with Nightcrawler helping mutants in danger. Some people believe that the inclusion of a young Jean Grey in X-Men: Apocalypse points to the next film being a telling of the famed Dark Phoenix Saga.

You know, in this post-Deadpool world of self-referential fourth-wall breaking, that might’ve been a good scene to put in the movie. It was the first successful cloning of a living being, and although the event was considered a major breakthrough, we think that Dolly would have fared much better if she had been recruited by Professor X. James Mangold is at the helm again (after directing The Wolverine) which should be fine with most fans as Mangold’s steady direction was one of the assets of the previous movie.

Singer was reticent, however, to say if he’d even return for another X-Men film since he’s already committed to directing a 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea remake next.

Which character might be introduced during the post-credits scenes of X-Men: Apocalypse? Meanwhile, some characters move in opposite directions. Yet Kinberg said “We’re working really hard on figuring that out”, although the fourth time isn’t usually a charm in superhero movies, especially after three failures. The film is expected to hit the big screen next year but no cast has officially been announced. To me, it has to be done with a lot of care. There have been some rumors suggesting X-Men: Apocalypse’s post-credits scene will feature Mister Sinister looking at an unconscious Cable, suspended in an incubator.

But it’s a nice progression of the main characters’ journey that we’ve followed since First Class, and a pleasant reintroduction to familiar characters that I hope will be done right this go-around.
