In an interview with People magazine, Simon said she was actually singing about three men and one of Hollywood’s most prolific heartthrobs was the subject of just one of the verses of the 1972 blockbuster.

And the veteran singer even kept the encounters secret from a child psychologist because she says she wanted them to continue. Well, if you’re Warren Beatty, at least a few of it is. At 70-years-old Carly looks wonderful and she appears to be one of those people who don’t become unrecognizable with age, you would know her anywhere!

Simon was married to James Taylor from 1972 to ’83 and according to The Today Show neither of the other verses or chorus are about him. Beatty, for his part, has long thought that the entire song was about him, a theory Simon shot down.

Carly Simon, the woman who stumped the world with a song about a few famous jerk she wouldn’t name, is finally coming clean in an upcoming memoir called Boys of the Trees.

Clouds in my coffee, blah blah blah. She goes on to say that Beatty always thought that the song was about him, according to Fox News. “The song is about me”. Don’t worry, she reveals that he knows he has his own verse, but makes sure to throw in a little jab.

Probably, if we were sitting over at dinner and I said: “‘remember that time you walked into the party and…” she says.
