“I wouldn’t call fifth in the world a failure”, she said.
Biles went ahead after the first of four disciplines with a score of 15.866 on vault, although she dropped back to second following an effort of 14.966 on the uneven bars, with Mustafina moving into the lead at the halfway point.

With her victory in the 100-meter freestyle, she became the first African-American woman to win an Olympic gold medal in swimming. “It doesn’t even feel real. And if they put a lot effort into it, then I can do it too”, said Little. She’s expected to obliterate her competition in three of next week’s apparatus finals.
