Later, Sindhu went in a rally from airport to Indira Priyadarshini stadium in Vijayawada in an open top double-decker bus arranged by the State government.

Sindhu and her coach Pullela Gopichand landed in Vijaywada, her mother’s hometown, on Tuesday morning in a special flight.
As the Telangana government sought to “own” the Olympics silver medalist as “daughter of our soil”, Chandrababu and his government took pains to proclaim that the champion indeed belonged to Andhra Pradesh.
Unlike Saina Nehwal, PV Sindhu is all in praise for her coach P. Gopichand for her reaching the finals against all odds and opponents and winng the only silver medal in Rio Olympics. Not stopping here, Babu also played badminton with Sindhu on the felicitation stage and Sindhu showed her class again and beat the AP CM.
Now we know Sindhu’s success mantra and an unusual person is behind her success.
Meanwhile, Andhra’s case for claiming Sindhu is relatively simpler. “But in addition to that, going forward in any global match, we are sure that she will bring a gold medal”, he was quoted as saying by electronic media.
The coach Gopi Chand was given 1 crore rupees from the government and a land near the academy to train more people!
“It’s huge support from the government and also for financial rewards”. Together, they run a prestigious badminton academy in Hyderabad that has brought India much glory, many medals and a whole lot to be proud of. But the trust and hopes Indians have kept on me motivated me to perform more. “I am hopeful of improving in the days to come and win the gold one day”, Sindhu said even as the crowd was lustily cheering her.

But Ali’s remarks on better coach were surprising as the Telangana government announced a cash award for Rs 1 crore to Gopichand, who has been coaching Sindhu for the last 15 years.
