Prime Minister Narendra Modi today invited investors here to participate in the proposed divestment of Navratna PSUs and sought the Singaporean government’s help in building at least 20 smart cities.

The Prime Minister said that Malaysian CEOs have experience and expertise in areas where India has a requirement, and therefore, it is a flawless match.
On another note, Najib said Malaysia and China would work closely in combating terrorism and violent extremism.
Also operationalised yesterday was a technical agreement on the sharing of so-called White Shipping Information between the two navies – information on movements of cargo ships – and a deal to co-operate in cyber security.
He said the recent spate of attacks in different countries, apart from the “ceaseless terrorist attempts against India and Afghanistan”, were a reminder of the global nature of this threat.
As the visit drew to a close, Modi held a meeting with Corporate Malaysia. “We will enhance defence exchanges through regular dialogue at various levels including the defence ministers from both countries”, said Najib.
Addressing the diaspora, Modi said: “The entire world is reposing a lot of faith in India today and the reason behind this is not Modi, but the Indians settled overseas”.
Before that, the United States and Singapore also signed a bilateral Strategic Framework Agreement in 2005 which expanded the scope of cooperation in areas such as counterterrorism, counter-proliferation, joint military exercises and training, policy dialogues and defence technology.
The Indian prime minister also called for scaling up trade and investment relations with Malaysia. We want to highlight the real values through strategic partnerships.
Both the leaders were also agreed to expand Indian IT firms in Malaysia, especially those located in Cyberjaya, and gave their consent to “to continue promote greater engagement” of Indian IT companies across the Malaysian geography.
Indian prime minister Narendra Modi’s two-day official visit to Singapore, celebrating 50 years of diplomatic ties, is the top story of the day.
“I am happy that we are strengthening our excellent cooperation in Public Administration and Governance”. India was the second nation to recognise Singapore upon independence in 1965.

“I am very pleased with our excellent and growing cooperation in Traditional Medicine, including Ayurveda and Siddha”, he said.
