Singapore: Prime Minister Concluded visit to Singapore
The two leaders will meet again on Tuesday for the bilateral talks.

While acknowledging Singapore as a great country Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said Singapore is a metaphor of reality of dreams.
Modi, who was here to attend the ASEAN and the East Asia Summits, said recent spate of attacks in different countries, “not to mention the ceaseless terrorist attempts against India and Afghanistan are a reminder of the global nature of this threat”.
The prime minister also thanked Modi for his cooperation in assisting Malaysia in the search operations for the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 in March previous year by deploying six ships and seven aircraft.
“I have come to assure you that I am there to hold your hand”, Modi said while addressing the India Singapore Economic Convention on the second day of his visit to the city state.
The operationalisation document on arts and culture is on an “executive programme on cooperation in the fields of the arts, heritage, archives and library” between the Indian and Singaporean governments for the years 2015-2018.
The Prime Minister had an interaction with leaders of Corporate Malaysia, for strengthening economic ties.
He also said that the agreement to cooperate in cyber-security between the two countries was very important.
A joint declaration on strategic partnership titled ‘Renewed spirit, New Energy’ was also signed between India and Singapore to elevate bilateral relations between the two countries in to strategic partnership. He also pitched for issuance of rupee bonds and infrastructure bonds in Singapore. Singapore’s CSA is also partnering with France and the United Kingdom to share technology and expertise. Nearly 3,00,000 people of Indian origin are settled in Singapore.
MoU on Cooperation to Combat Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substance and their Precursors: It was inked between the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) of India and the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) Singapore. This heightened economic activity has further enhanced people-to-people ties between Singapore and India, he added.
Singapore also supported India during its war with Pakistan in 1965.

“India and China will engage constructively across the complexity of their relationship as two self-assured and confident nations, aware of their interests and responsibilities”, Modi said.
