Singer Beyonce includes Cardiff date in world tour
This year, Super Bowl 50’s Halftime Show offered a glimpse of yesteryears. The new Queen of Pop came out on the field wearing an outfit drawing direct inspiration from the King of Pop’s ‘fit from his own iconic Super Bowl XXVII halftime performance.

Coldplay opened on the field with a line from 2000’s “Yellow” and transitioned into its 2008 hit “Viva La Vida”. A largely okay performance by Coldplay was rescued with a stroke of brilliance by Beyonce and Bruno Mars.
Beyonce, Coldplay singer Chris Martin and Bruno Mars from left, perform during halftime of the NFL Super Bowl 50 football game between the Denver Broncos and the Carolina Panthers, Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016, in Santa Clara, Calif.
She posted a number of pictures from within the stadium during Coldplay’s show on her Instagram account which suggested she was very proud of her former spouse. Backed by a string section and a whole lot of flowers, Coldplay did what they do best – deliver stadium-sized uplift, a fact Martin drove home by shouting “We’re in this together!” before the band dove headlong into “Paradise”.
Taking viewers down memory lane, Martin sang “Fix You” as a video montage played past memorable halftime performances such as Michael Jackson, U2, Mick Jagger, Katy Perry and Whitney Houston, among others.
Immediately after the performance, Beyoncé announced her 2016 Formation World Tour.
The Super Bowl 50 just wrapped up, but we all know that half of its charm lies in its musical acts.

The show then shifted to the first guest star, Bruno Mars, who, dressed in all black everything and gold chains, performed his Grammy Award nominated hit single with Mark Ronson, “Uptown Funk”. And when he joined Beyonce and Bruno Mars on Uptown Funk, it felt like the Super Bowl version of James Corden’s “Carpool Karaoke”.
