According to TMZ, Brown is still inside the home, though no one is letting police inside.

Apparently, officers were called around 3 am by a woman asking for help stating that she was threatened by the performer.

According to TMZ, the woman was one of several house guests in Brown’s home early Tuesday morning.

She said she was admiring the diamond necklace of a man who had been showing his jewellery off when the man told her to back away and got angry. Curran said she asked for her cell phone, but members of Brown’s entourage wouldn’t let her have it unless she signed a non-disclosure agreement. She said that’s when Brown appeared and told them to leave as he pointed a gun at her.

“I’m sleep half the damn night, I just wake up, all these mother— helicopter choppers is around, police out there at the gate”, Brown said.

The arrest comes after a long stand-off with police where the singer holed up inside his mansion while taking to Instagram in a rambling, profanity-laced denunciation of the police, protesting his innocence – and to promote his latest music video.

As police were in the process of obtaining a search warrant for the property, Brown emerged from his home once his lawyer had arrived at the scene.

Curran hasn’t responded to requests for comment from The Associated Press. Brown had pleaded guilty to assaulting his girlfriend, singer Rihanna, in 2009.

Brown, who took to Instagram prior to his arrest to insist he had done nothing wrong, has had a myriad of legal troubles over the years.

Chris said: “All this news s**t you ain’t doing anything but giving me better publicity”.
