USA singer Chris Brown has been arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon after a woman told police he had threatened her with a gun.

Detectives filed papers for a search warrant, which was granted hours later, allowing them to enter the R&B star’s home around 1pm local time, following a stand-off Los Angeles Police Department Deputy Chief Bob Green described as “long and protracted”. The singer was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and was released on $250,000 bail later that night.
Authorities went following the emergency call early on Tuesday to the home of Mr Brown.
Brown’s alleged accuser is a woman named Baylee Curran, now the 2016 Miss California Regional title holder, according to TMZ and the Los Angeles Times. Before Brown was taken into custody, police say he barricaded himself in his home for almost 14 hours. “The incident involved the residence of Mr. Chris Brown, where officers responded immediately”.
But regardless of that issue, dozens of armed officers descended on Brown’s home following a call to 911 during which the allegations regarding the presence of a firearm were reported.
Earlier in the day, Brown launched an Instagram rant to defend his innocence.
Curran says that she was still “in shock” from the events of the evening but that she felt “validated” by Brown’s arrest.
“I’m real upset about today”, he said in an Instagram video.
The singer has several convictions for violence, including a 2009 assault on his then girlfriend, pop star Rihanna.
Following Moore’s statements, Browns’ attorney Mark Geragos disputed those claims, saying “That is categorically untrue”. Various media organizations live-streaming the scene showed a man in a red baseball cap sitting on outside the house on the front walkway and smiling with police, as Geragos paced nearby.
Officer Lyle Knight tells The Associated Press that police are waiting for a judge to approve a search warrant for the home in the San Fernando Valley area.
Brown’s representatives haven’t returned calls for comment.
Eleven hours after police were called, he finally came outside and was arrested soon afterwards.

“I don’t care. Y’all gonna stop playing with me like I’m the villain out here, like I’m going insane”, he said in one Instagram video Tuesday, waving a cigarette and looking at the camera.
