Singer Christina Grimmie, who starred in NBC’s “The Voice”, died Friday after being shot at a concert in Orlando, Florida by an unidentified gunman, who then killed himself, police said.

“The board and staff at the Plaza Live Venue are deeply saddened by the tragic events of Friday evening”, a venue spokeswoman said.
“Her brother is a hero for saving and stopping him from not hurting anyone else”, a police spokesperson said.
The Voice alum Christina Grimmie’s brother Marcus (Mark) posted a tribute to his sister on Saturday, a day after she was fatally shot after her concert in Florida.
“The support has been insane, and I do feel a peace”, Marcus said.
“Too young & too much talent to leave us this soon”.
Police said in a news release that the 22-year-old singer had performed with the band Before You Exit at The Plaza Live in Orlando.
Marcus is asking all his sister’s fans to comment under the post with pictures of her.
Investigators say the 27-year-old, from the Floridian city of St Petersburg, was armed with two handguns, a large hunting knife and two magazine guns full of additional ammunition.
“She was doing a meet-and-greet, just signing autographs and selling merchandise”.
The OPD held a media briefing Saturday morning, at which time they did not identify Loibl’s name, but explained that “the suspect traveled to Orlando apparently to commit this crime, and then had plans to travel back to where he came from”.
The actions of Grimmie’s brother saved others from injury, Miglio said.
A New Jersey native, Grimmie first drew attention several years ago for her YouTube videos featuring covers of pop songs. “He is not injured”, a police statement read, adding there were about 120 people at the venue at the time. The police chief wouldn’t elaborate further.
“She was one of the goofiest people I have ever met”, Perkins said as she laughed.
Grimmie had posted a video of herself shortly before the concert was scheduled to begin, encouraging fans to come and see her perform.
Blake Sheton tweeted: “I’m stunned and disgusted and heartbroken that we lost that sweet little girl”.

In 2011, Entertainment Weekly crowned her “the veritable queen of YouTube musicians”, already with almost 1 million subscribers (she has 3.2 million now), an EP of original songs (titled “Find Me”), a single (“Advice”) that was getting airplay on Radio Disney, and an opening spot touring with Selena Gomez.
