While performing the 1993 hit, which is arguably his most famous, the singer fell to the stage floor at Edmonton’s Jubilee Auditorium. Alberta Health Services said that he was transported to an undisclosed hospital but did not release any additional information.
In statement to Rolling Stone, a representative for Meatloaf confirmed the singer was hospitalized after suffering from “severe dehydration”, but is now in “stable and in good condition”.
The statement went on to note that Meat Loaf was hospitalized but is on the mend.
A statement from Jeremy Westby, of Webster Public Relations, said Meat Loaf extends “heartfelt thanks for everyone’s support and well wishes, and is expecting a speedy and full recovery”.
Showbizspy was told that after collapsing on stage he was admitted to the hospital and is now “responsive and recovering well”.
Thursday night’s scare wasn’t the first time Meat Loaf collapsed during a performance.
The singer had cancelled two other concerts in recent days – in Regina on Saturday and in Calgary on Tuesday – citing ill-health.
“Thank you for your support and understanding”.
Born Marvin Lee Aday, Meat Loaf made his name with theatrical stage productions and operatic songs.
Meat Loaf has a history of stuffing up vocals.

On Thursday, video shows the singer dropping his mic before collapsing. In 2011, medics rushed to his aid during a concert in Pittsburgh but he got up and finished the show.
