Dramatic security camera footage has emerged from China of several people falling into a huge hole as it opens up in the pavement beneath their feet. The cause of the incident is being investigated.
An investigation has now been launched into the incident, according to local media.
In CCTV footage posted to Twitter, on person is seen dangling just beneath the sinkhole’s opening-clinging desperately to an exposed underground cable.
They were taken to a nearby hospital, where they were all treated for minor injuries and later discharged.
One of the women fell a short distance before landing on a horizontal object while the three others disappeared from view in the two-metre-deep hole.
