Sissoko explains Spurs move; vows to win over doubting fans
Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are understood to be the two clubs battling to sign the France global, with just hours of the summer transfer window remaining, but his worldwide coach would not reveal whether the player was in west London or north London.

Sissoko completed a move to White Hart Lane minutes before Wednesday’s transfer deadline, with Spurs equalling their transfer record after Mauricio Pochettino made it clear the midfielder was the man he really wanted.
Sissoko, who represented France in the final of the European Championship earlier this summer, spent three seasons with Newcastle after joining from Toulouse in 2013, and was relegated with the north-east club last season.
Former Tottenham Hotspur star Graham Roberts has hit back at pundit Paul Merson over his criticism of new signing Moussa Sissoko. They did well last season, they have a great manager, they have a good team. He said: “I’m very happy, very proud to be here”.
“@MoussaSissoko has signed a contract with the Club until 2021 and will wear number 17! I hope we will win a lot of games, a lot of titles and I will give everything for you”. On global duty with France, Sissoko had been given permission to leave Clairefontaine to fly to London at 9am but as the hours passed and the impasse continued it seemed he would be going nowhere after all.
Tottenham are understood to have enquired about Sissoko, but their’ valuation is signifcantly below the Magpies’ £35million price tag. “There is no sense to be building for the Premier League if it means we don’t have the right players to get out of this division”.

His employers have been less than impressed by his come-and-get-me pleas, following a season during which he showed his best form only as Rafael Benitez attempted, ultimately unsuccessfully, to drag Newcastle out of a relegation tailspin. I have the chance now with Tottenham so I’m looking forward and I hope we will do well in the Premier League and in the Champions League also.
