Six dead in plane crash in Alabama

Six people were killed in the crash. The crash site is in a wooded field of Van de Graaff Park near an area known as Gate 1. “Please keep these families in your thoughts and prayers”.

A local mayor in Alabama says emergency workers were hoping the plane would make it. “I just documented the wreckage this morning”.

The pilot’s log book has been located, she said, but the plane’s maintenance records have not. She said the identities of the victims had not been officially confirmed and she would not release them pending further investigation and notification of the next-of-kin.

Police say the aircraft had engine problems. You know you got that separation I’m the business person and you’re the patient. His plane dropped out of the sky 50 seconds into the flight.

“The Tuscaloosa Fire Department was right on the scene”. Patterson says the city lowered its flags in mourning Monday.

Friends, family and the Oxford community remembered the three couples, who have 11 children between them, in tributes.

“It’s just a sad day”, said Patterson, who knew all the victims. The plane is owned by Oxford University Charters which is based out of Oxford, Mississippi. The couple were from Oxford and were dentists at Farese Family Dental. He attended dental school at the University of Mississippi Dental School in Jackson, where he and Lea met, according to family members. His wife, Kim Perry, was a nurse practitioner and worked at Ole Miss.

Davis reports that all three couples had three children each.

Dr. Poole and his wife live in Oxford, but his dental practice is in Clarksdale.

One of the passengers, Dr. Jason Farese was a pitcher at Vanderbilt, The Clarion-Ledger reports.

Authorities said several people are dead following the crash of a small airplane near Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He said that he and his wife, Deborah, were praying “for the loved and lost, their families and friends”.
