Six die as a result of civilian helicopter crash
A Ukrainian civilian helicopter has crashed in eastern Slovakia, killing six people, a Slovak interior ministry spokesman said on Friday (Saturday NZ Time). “Two Ukrainian citizens and four nationals from Southeast Asia, including two women, were onboard the civilian-registered helicopter, which crashed in Slovakia, 35 kilometres (29 miles) from the Ukrainian border”, it said in a statement.

The minister told media in the western city of Zilina that the pilot might have tried to evade detection by Slovak authorities.
“We don’t know the direct reason for the crash and need to investigate into it”, he said. “You see, smugglers of goods or people stop at nothing when seeking to cross our border”, concluded Kalinak. “Armenpress” reports, citing Reuters agency, Slovak interior ministry spokesman informed about this.
Ukrainian authorities did not confirm that any aircraft had crossed the border, he said.

“When the fog lifted today we found the wreckage of a Mi2 helicopter in the municipality of Michalovce”. A search was then launched, which was complicated by the inclement weather, especially thick fog.
