Six terrorists killed in Okara encounter

At least six terrorists were killed while two law enforcement agencies personnel were wounded in a gun battle in a village near Okara on early Wednesday morning, Dunya News reported.

Intelligence personnel and police on a cue conducted a raid at a house in a nearby village, which was turned into a shootout between the terrorists and the law enforcement personnel, District Police Officer (DPO) Rana Faisal said.

He said sophisticated arms were also seized in the raid in which two officers were also injured.

There was no further detail available about identity of the terrorists. Police and intelligence agencies surrounded the targeted house where the alleged terrorists were, around midnight.

The slain terrorists seem like Afghan nationals, the official added.

An explosion occurred inside the house which caused the roof of the house to collapse. Weapons, explosive material and maps of sensitive locations were also recovered from the killed militants, said police.
