Sixers’ Embiid to miss 2015-16 season

What’s insane is that he might not even be ready for the start of what would be his third season since being drafted.

Center Joel Embiid is set to miss the upcoming season after a second surgery on his right foot this week, but the recovery process could keep him out for some of the following season too. The team figures to build around Okafor and Nerlens Noel while they try to acquire the rest of the pieces to Sam Hinkie’s puzzle.

Reports revealed that there were five doctors who were involved in Embiid’s surgery. The news came back in July and indicated the operation would be in a matter of days.

“Everyone involved – our organization, Joel, and his agent Darren Matsubara of Wasserman Media Group – worked diligently to assemble this highly sought after group of professionals”, Hinkie said. Nobody has talked me off of that just yet.

Embiid, a 2014 draft pick, had a bone graft Tuesday, with two existing screws replaced and a graft using bone from his hip. Of course. But no one has told me that’s still not in the cards.

“[The bone] has been put in a great position to support full recovery”, wrote Dr. Martin O’Malley, the surgeon guy. Embiid’s career is in jeopardy and he is really going to have to improve his work ethic.

Nerlens Noel is turning out to be a defensive monster
