Sixers rookie Jahlil Okafor knocked a guy out in Boston

The Sixers have lost 26 straight games dating to last season. After yesterday’s game, Okafor was involved with a Boston street fight, so there is a chance his team could be without him, if he was hurt or if he gets suspended for his actions.

In the course of the fight, Okafor, who helped lead the Duke Blue Devils to an NCAA national championship this past April, tumbles to the ground and a man wearing a green jacket was seen punching the 6-foot-11 player at the back of the head.

“It is hard to not get more frustrated, because you are so close to getting that W”, said Nerlens Noel, whose squad blew fourth-quarter leads in each of the last three games.

Okafor will play on Friday against the Houston Rockets, according to Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer. The 76ers have talented bigs but they are young and Jahlil Okafor has been a defensive liability for a great deal of this season.

Okafor, who is the third overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, is averaging 18.4 points to go along with 8.1 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game this season.

“You guys know how much of a disappointment it would have been”, Jae Crowder said after his second three-pointer of the comeback gave the Celtics the lead with 38.5 seconds left.

“We were tight and we missed a lot of shots, and they were dominating us in the paint as far as blocking shots and at the rim and everything else”, he said.

A Boston Police spokesperson told WBZ-TV Friday they are aware of the video, but no one was at the scene when officers arrived, so no report was filed. “I was around the corner when it happened”.

Even with this footage showing what exactly went down in Boston on Wednesday night, there were no arrests made from the incident, so it’s probably unlikely that the 76ers rookie will be reprimanded for what took place.

“I’m happy for him”, Sullinger said of Pressey.

Charlotte overcame a late nine-point deficit and set a team record by holding the Wizards to six points in the fourth quarter.

Boston police do not plan to investigate the scuffle on Wednesday night involving Okafor unless someone involved comes forward to report they were the victim of a crime. I think the guy was just talking s-t.
