A public wake for the Skidmore College student who was hit and killed by an alleged drunk driver on Halloween night is happening Wednesday afternoon. Gorman, 64, struck the three pedestrians, all freshmen, while they were walking on a road near campus around 11:19 p.m., according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department.
The driver of the auto has been arrested on charges including vehicular assault and driving while intoxicated. The paper said there were not sidewalks on the street where the students were hit. The sheriff’s office also did not release other information about the investigation, such as Gorman’s blood alcohol content at the time of the crash. He was arraigned in the town of Greenfield court and has been sent to the Saratoga County Jail.

In a message posted on the school’s website Sunday, Skidmore President Philip A. Glotzbach said the two other students remain in intensive care.
