Skier Survives Fall in Alaska
Canadian Ian McIntosh was starring in a ski and snowboard film on the Neocola mountain range in Alaska when he misjudged his skiing line and lost his footing.

According to a blog post on the Teton website, McIntosh took off only to run into an unseen 1.5 metre deep trench on one of his first turns.
“My neck’s a little stiff, and yeah, I’m marginally sore, but otherwise OK”, McIntosh said after the crash, in a behind-the-scenes video. He pulled his airbag, which helped soften the fall.
McIntosh, who’s also a BASE jumper, immediately yells “No” when he realizes what is happening.
A skier miraculously survived a 1,600-foot plunge down an Alaska mountain that was caught on video.
But the 24-year-old skier “was able to walk away”, Teton Gravity Research spokesman Eric Henderson told NBC News. Upon reaching adulthood, he moved to Whistler to become a professional skier, which had been his dream ever since.

Although we’re fairly sure that the fall was unintended, it made for a remarkable promotional video for the film. Talking big mountain skiing and crashing huge.
