Skipping debate, Trump touts millions raised for veterans
Following Muir’s lengthy open, Llamas’s segment obsessed over Trump’s interview with FNC’s Bill O’Reilly that took place almost 24 hours ago as Trump “kept bashing [Megyn] Kelly” as O’Reilly attempted to convince Trump to change his mind.

Trump told the audience stocked with veterans that he had wanted to be at the debate, but “you have to stick up for your rights when you’re treated badly” – a reference to his belief that Fox anchor Megyn Kelly had treated him badly at the August 6 debate. With Trump as a no-show, which candidate got the most talking time? As always, NPR had its stopwatch at the ready. “As an example, Iran the way they have been treating us with this frightful deal, it’s one of the worst deals I’ve ever seen negotiated under any circumstances. we have to We have to stick up for ourselves and our country when we are being mistreated, remember that.” he said. The real estate mogul cites “unfair” treatment from debate host Fox News as his reason for skipping the contest Thursday night in favor of a rally nearby.
Frank Bruni at the New York Times said, “His ghost was there, because he’d reshaped his Republican rivals’ images, reconfigured the challenges in front of them, rewritten the rules of this extraordinary race”.
Trump told CNN that someone from Fox News called him to apologise for the remarks made regarding his participation in the debate.
A CNN source said the network would likely air parts of the Trump event live. Fox News had better success in the previous debates that Trump attended. This comes on top of the six minutes and 31 seconds spent on the Democratic campaign as the scandal-ridden Hillary Clinton continues to battle the socialist Senator Bernie Sanders from Vermont.
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has launched a new website for collecting donations to veterans ahead of his event on Thursday evening.
Below is a livestream of the event, which was showing veterans and Trump supporters talk about life as veterans and Trump supporters.
Florida Senator Marco Rubio is third at eight percent, followed by retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson at six percent and Florida ex-governor Jeb Bush at five percent.
“If you guys ask one more mean question, I may have to leave the stage”, Cruz said.
Later, as he introduced Walding, Trump offered the following: “He should be much more famous than me, ’cause he’s a lot much more courageous than I am”.
Cruz later made a pitch to Trump’s supporters, saying that he is still “glad Donald is running” and “glad he has produced enormous enthusiasm”. Contributions to the site will go to The Donald J. Trump Foundation, Trump’s nonprofit charitable organization.
When it ended, Huckabee sauntered into the filing room to answer reporters’ questions, giving it the distinct feel of the post-debate spin room just down the road. Fox News refused. Mr. Trump said Fox insulted him again with a sarcastic news release.

He accused Kelly of being “a lightweight” and says he will instead host a fundraiser for wounded veterans instead of attending the debate.
