The products safety agency has also asked Samsung to extend its refund period for customers who missed the Monday deadline for claiming them.
Samsung, which halted Note 7 sales in countries affected by the recall, plans to resume new sales of the Note 7 in South Korea on September 28.
For those who haven’t returned their Samsung Galaxy Note 7 handsets, Samsung has come up with a few ideas on how to address it.
“We need more measures to actively inform consumers”, he said.
The theory is that the exchange rate will shoot up much quicker now that consumers can make a direct swap for Samsung’s latest batch of Note 7 shipments.
Samsung Electronics will see profits of 7.4 trillion won ($6.7 trillion) for the third quarter of the year, according to analyst consensus in South Korea, a drop of 8.6 percent from the previous quarter.
Galaxy Note 7 ran into trouble in many countries over reports of its battery issues, causing the phone to explode or catch fire. Based on reports, Samsung received 92 reports regarding the batteries overheating in the United States with 55 reports of property damage and 26 reports of burns from fires. It received 92 reports of the batteries overheating in the US alone, including 26 reports of burns and 55 reports of property damage, including fires in cars and a garage.
“AT&T will receive new Samsung Galaxy Note 7 devices on or before September 21, 2016 in our retail stores”, says AT&T.
In South Korea, the government did not issue an official recall but the company was required to submit the voluntary recall plan for the government to review. Samsung will also have to conduct quality tests of its own on the newly arrived batteries.
