After 21 years of dreaming, a Chinese artist and pyrotechnic fan has created a massive firework installation held up in the sky using a hot-air balloon, reports Yahoo News.
Cai Guoqiang, from Quanzhou City of south-east China’s Fujian Province, put on display the art piece in his hometown.
It took awhile to catch fire but a video made by a Chinese artist that depicts a “ladder” of fireworks is going viral.
The installation was created by having a weather balloon pulling a 1600 foot wire ladder with fireworks and gunpowder, according to Time.

Finally, Guoqiang was able to get a thrilling Sky Ladder fireworks display off the ground in time to celebrate his grandmother’s 100th birthday. The first attempt was made to launch a similar balloon in the sky in 1994 but two attempts were in vain following strong winds. The comments beneath the YouTube video joke about heavenly matters and rock groups.
