Skydiver plunges to his death in southwest Ohio
An experienced skydiver died Sunday morning in OH after he opened his main and reserve parachutes too late, NBC News reported.

The Hamilton-Middletown Journal-News reports the 47-year-old man from the Cincinnati suburb of Mason man plunged to his death Sunday morning at Middletown Regional Airport.
The man, who Hart said had completed 95 previous skydiving jumps, died on impact at approximately 11 a.m.
The skydiver reportedly deployed his parachute below the recommended altitude and cut his main away too low.
“This wasn’t because of a problem”. Maybe he lost altitude awareness.

“It’s unfortunate but is was completely avoidable”, said Hart. “This was not a reflection of a safety problem, but a reflection on not making good decisions”.

The Federal Aviation Association is still investigating the skydiver’s death, as officials probe the parachute’s packing, the pilot’s training and the certification of the aircraft.
