Skype today rolled out a new, visually refreshed version of its Android app. Marked as version 5.6, it’s created to give users a more intuitive user interface. You can also head to the Google Play Store and manually update the Skype application on your smartphone.

“Now a quick glance allows you to catch up on more conversations, and you can easily jump in to start chatting”, Huang said. For example, the new update now makes it clear which Skype contacts are actually online whether you’re looking at your favorites, recents, or full list of friends and colleagues.

Within each chat, you’ll notice that we adjusted the color of chat bubbles to make the text pop more.
